The initiative foresees the donation of more than 60 gifts for residents of the Elderly Perseverance Home
This December, employees of TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá container terminal, decided to get together to perform a Christmas action that aims to collect donations for the Elderly Perseverance Home. The institution, located on the Paraná coast, cares for approximately 70 people aged between 60 and 94.
The initiative began with the availability of 64 cards with requests from the elderly to the terminal’s employees, which were sold out in less than 2 hours. Most of them had hygiene products as a gift option.
The delivery of the requests took place on December 20, accompanied by the presence of Santa Claus. Besides TCP, 10 other companies are involved in this action: CBL, Studio Fit, Alcool do Paraná, Rocha, Coopanexos, Cibra, Br Fértil, Copadubo, Cotriguaçu and Fortesolo.
“TCP’s participation in this campaign is essential for us to meet the needs of the elderly and provide a dignified and humanized place for those who are housed here,” said the administrative coordinator of Lar Perseverança, Luiz Gustavo Afonso Alves.
Currently, the Home has a team of 50 employees, among them caregivers, nursing technicians, psychologists, occupational therapist, physical therapist, nutritionist, nurse, social worker, cooks, general services, and administrative staff, who provide care 24 hours a day.

More Christmas initiatives
TCP employees will also be able to help this Christmas the Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil Agadil Cabral, an institution that serves more than 60 children from 1 to 4 years old. The idea is to collect new or used toys in good condition. Donations can be made until December 23 at TCP’s outpatient department.
“With the high adhesion of the campaign for the asylum, we noticed the willingness of our employees to help those in need, and therefore, we launched another collection to also make the children’s Christmas happier”, concludes Katlyn Eliege dos Santos, TCP’s supervisor of institutional projects.
Another action carried out this year-end was the delivery of food baskets to workers of the Association of Recyclable Material Collectors of Vila de Santa Maria, located in Paranaguá. The distribution of food is part of TCP’s initiatives to help families living near the Terminal.
